5 Mar – Disney's upcoming live-action "Beauty and the Beast" is starting to take shape, as it has picked up two gentlemen to join its main cast as the titular Beast and the antagonist.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Dracula Untold" star, Luke Evans, has been confirmed to play the villainous Gaston while "The Guest" lead actor, Dan Stevens, will be starring as the Beast opposite Emma Watson's beauty, Belle.

While there was no word on whether the live-action retelling of the 1991 animated Disney film will be a musical, Watson's previous Facebook post, "I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There.' ... Time to start some singing lessons", implies that it may be one.

Production is expected to begin later this year, with "The Twilight Saga" director Bill Condon helming the project.

The movie is part of the Disney classic reboot line-up, with last year's "Maleficent", a retelling of Disney's 1959 "Sleeping Beauty" as seen from its villain's point-of-view, being the most successful so far with its USD758.4 million worldwide gross. In Malaysia and Singapore, the movie collected USD6.3million and USD3.7 million, respectively.

Another Disney live-action feature film, "Cinderella", will be hitting the cinemas this 12 March. A "Frozen" short film called "Frozen Fever" will be playing ahead of the movie on the big screen.

There is currently no release date set for "Beauty and the Beast".
