The third in the Madagascar series from Dreamworks made its debut at Cannes Film Festival, in the section 'Out of Competition' before it reaches cinemas on June 6. The screening caused much excitment on Twitter, making 'Madagascar 3' a trending topic in France.

Film maker Olaf Schwennesen (@OSchwennesen) tweeted "Watch me today on the Red Carpet on the Filmfestival in Cannes. Big opening of Madagascar 3 and I'm with Ben Stiller here tonight."

Fans of the film series such as Alex Krunich (@alexandria_rayy) tweeted "Madagascar 3? Umm yes. #nightismade". Others such as Jordan Cuckler (@jordancuckler) were even more direct, tweeting "I can't wait for Madagascar 3!!"; while Isabella (@Isabellaaa24) tweeted "My life was made when I found out they made a Madagascar 3".

The screening also got a big buzz among Justin Beiber fans, due to the teen pop idol's love of the movie series: fans such as 33Days (@kaylathompsonx) tweeted  "I'm with Justin on this one.. Im glad there's gonna be a Madagascar 3. I really didn't get the closure I needed from the 2nd one."

If fan reaction on Twitter is anything to go by then there is a chance that Madagascar 3: Europe's most wanted could be the big hit of the summer.
