AFP News – Thu, Aug 9, 2012Gu Kailai, the wife of a high-flying Chinese politican brought down by a corruption scandal that has rocked the Communist party, went on trial for murder Thursday, a court official said.
The trial -- one of the most high-profile in decades in China -- began at 8.30 am (0030 GMT) and will last just one day, Zhang Mi told AFP by telephone from the Hefei Intermediate Court.
