Never Lose Anything Again With Linquet’s Newer And Better 2nd Gen

On a day-to-day basis, we as human beings tend to forget or lose our belongings one way or another, which often brings us frustration and much sighs. It’s even worse when it comes to valuables, and for some, it’s a reoccurring issue. But hold on – If you identify yourself with this problem, we have some good news, as there’s finally a device that’s built with you in mind!

Linquet, which started its journey last year, was developed as the first cloud-based anti-loss solution for phones and valuables (phones, bikes, pets, laptops, keys and wallets). It functions by having users attach tiny Linquet devices to their belongings – using Bluetooth – to linq those items to their phone, and when they fall out of range, both phone and belongings will sound an alarm, complete with the locations updated to the cloud in real-time, giving users the power to find their items afterwards.

In fact, no extra hardware is needed – just a quick download of their free app, a tap on your phone’s Bluetooth, and you’re ready to go. Sounds pretty neat, right?

With statistics running high at more than 160,000 phones reported lost or stolen everyday (in the U.S. alone), alarm-sounding devices were sure to come in handy, as we’ve all had moments of panic when we forgot where our phones were. However, like all gadgets, there’s always room for improvement!

Today, Linquet launches its pre-order campaign for its latest generation of cloud-based technology. Other than its original functions, it now consists of Smart Profiles, Trusted Friends, and Linquet Network.

The New Elements

With its Smart Profiles, users can personalise their experience to suit your way of life, like smartly silencing the alarms at night or when you’re at the office. For your convenience, you can also add a select few whom you trust to your account, so if you happen to leave something behind, those Trusted Friends will be notified to help you retrieve your belongings. Powered by Smart Profiles and Trusted Friends working hand in hand, users can also safely and conveniently share keys with out of town guests (like with AirBnB), safely rent out their bikes, or even lend expensive accessories to a fellow colleague.

What’s more impressive in my opinion is, via Linquet Network, if a misplaced item is on the move and passes within 100 feet of any other Linquet user, its location will be anonymously and securely updated to the cloud, and the owner will be notified. This makes the hunt for your treasured belongings not as weary or difficult, and might prove to be better than some locating apps.

Aside from the introduction of new features, the old Magic Button remains, as it helps users to locate their phones (even when it’s on silent mode), functions as a remote for taking endless selfies or to notify friends in an emergency, which is ultimately very helpful.

In addition, Linquet will be releasing its cloud-based API, which will allow developers and partners to create apps for Linquet or to form collaborations with their own products and services in any field, ranging from education to transportation, to healthcare, retail and gaming.

After a successful debut in the tech industry, which saw Linquet ship to over 34 countries, this new generation aims at powering the Sharing Economy through the magic of the Internet of Things (IoT).

“We’ve all been there. We always lose or misplace our phones, keys, wallets, laptops, pretty much everything,” said Pooya Kazerouni, Linquet’s president. “Now, we have a product that is much more than a great anti-loss solution. Not only does Linquet prevent your valuables from getting lost in the first place, but it also allows for smart sharing and connecting of important items with guests, acquaintances and customers.”

Time To Linq Up!

Weighing in at just 5 grams, it is small enough to be slotted into your wallet or pouch, or to be used as a cute little keychain. Tiny and lightweight, yet powerful! Battery-wise, it is rather easy to replace, as Linquet uses a standard coin cell battery, which can be easily found at most grocery and electronic stores. The battery life lasts up to one year, even when used 24/7, so you probably won’t have to worry about fumbling around with new batteries anytime soon.

A word of caution though, Linquet devices are only splashproof, not waterproof, as they have holes in the devices for audible alarm purposes, so be careful when you’re around the pool or caught in the rain!

And although Linquet devices sound like they may cost a bomb, the true value of Linquet lies within the software and cloud-based services enabled by the hardware. This is why Linquet operates by a unique price plan. The devices are provided free-of-charge, but users have to pay to ‘linq’ up for as low as $1.99/month. This is, however, the holiday season pricing, and will increase by 30%-50% starting on January 5th 2015.

What’s even better, with Linquet, there are no contracts or commitments, and users are free to cancel their subscriptions at any point in time. Upon cancellation, Linquet devices simply deactivate, but can be reactivated easily with a new subscription at any time. However, you can also earn yourself a free month’s subscription by inviting your friends to ‘linq’ up, by using your unique referral link. For every friend that linqs up, you receive one free month! A plus point: there’s no limit to how many friends you can invite through email or social media.

Once they have reached their initial pre-order goal of $20,000 on or before January 5th, 2015, Linquet will begin the first round of mass production for the devices. Consumers can expect the shipping to begin in the Spring of 2015.
