One Direction’s Louis wants birthday love

Louis Tomlinson says all he wants for his birthday is “love and friends”.

The One Direction heartthrob is the oldest in the band and will celebrate his twenty-first birthday on December 24.

While many people use the milestone age as an excuse for lavish parties and extravagant presents, Louis has a rather more humble wish list.

“I don’t know what I want, I haven’t even thought about it,” he told British magazine OK!

“I’ll have to get back to you! I think just love and friends – that’s all I’ll ever need.”

The British boyband – which consists of Louis, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Niall Horan – have had an extremely successful few years.

At the MTV Video Music Awards they walked away with three accolades and a kiss from saucy songstress Katy Perry.

At the ceremony, the 28-year-old beauty was spotted mouthing the words to a One Direction song, but stumbled over a few of the lyrics.

However, the boys say the little indiscretion couldn’t spoil the moment.

“I don’t really mind, it was still good! Me and Harry got a kiss off Katy so I really do not mind!” Niall said.

“It was great,” Harry added.
