Ivan Chang is the co-founder of Start Now, Singapore's first non-governmental volunteerism advocacy social enterprise.
Start Now has an integrated online community platform that actively engages schools, companies and nonprofit organizations to grow volunteerism and social responsibility in Singapore.
Nominated by IS Magazine as one of 2012’s Most Promising Startups, Start Now was also recently named the Social Enterprise Winner at Startup@Singapore, Singapore's biggest business plan competition. The social enterprise is currently incubated by NUS Enterprise and the Grameen Creative Lab@ NUS and is supported by Spring Singapore and the Singapore International Foundation.
Their IT platforms are also powering the 2012 SHINE Youth Festival pledging portal, the National Youth Council's Community Service Marathon and the upcoming International Volunteer Day celebrations here in Singapore, redefining the use of technology for social good.
Always positive and optimistic, Ivan loves living life to the fullest and believes that we have a responsibility to help others and contribute back to society. For his years of dedicated volunteer work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation Singapore, Ivan was awarded Rotary Singapore's ‘Heroes of Singapore’ Pledge Award.
He has big dreams for Start Now and Singapore -- to create a social community where all people from all walks of life can come together to do good, and do well.
