12 Apr - The world can now breathe a sigh of relief as porn actress Leni Lan Yan has been confirmed alive and well after 3 weeks of disappearance from the public eye.
In an apology issued to the Hong Kong press, apparently the actress has been living a nun's life at a temple in Chongqing, where she claims to have been "practicing abstinence from meat and also to say prayers" for close to 3 weeks.
The 25-year-old "3D Sex & Zen: Extreme Ecstasy" actress who had disappeared without contacting her management, family or friends, fueled the rampant rumors of her apparent depression and suicide by remaining mum all this while.
She apologized to the film's crew, saying it was a misunderstanding that the public thought she was missing as she had told her manager of her plans to stay at the temple.
She also added that no cell phones were allowed within the vicinity of the sacred temple, therefore the lack of absolute contact.
She returned to her Shanghai home on April 6 and flew to Hong Kong the next day to attend the premiere of the film "3D Sex & Zen: Extreme Ecstasy".
Lan Yan's "3D Sex & Zen: Extreme Ecstasy" is slated for 28 April release in Singapore under Golden Village Pictures. A Malaysian date is not known at time of publication.
