PSLE results to be released on Thursday

Results of the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) for this year will be released on Thursday.

In a press release, the Ministry of Education said students may get their result slips from their respective schools from noon that day.

Eligible students can also get their option forms to select secondary schools.

Taken by primary school students before they move on to secondary school, the PSLE has been a source of stress for the kids involved and their parents.

Many parents spend a lot on tuition so the kids can ace the exam and get into what are considered the best schools in Singapore.

On Friday, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong pointed out that even if students do not get the school of their choice, they still have other good choices.

"So parents, encourage your children to study hard, but please don't pressure them too much. PSLE is important, but it is not the be-all-and-end-all in your children's lives," he said.
