after MM's threats, i think ALL the Oppositions rallies will be just as hot as the wp.
      • Sg voter 1 year 1 month ago
MM is openly telling us that there is no such thing as Fairness in PAP's ruling of Singapore. Either you are for us or against us. Don't vote for us, the govt will not take care of your needs.
Questions : who pays the salary of the Government?
Do not bite the hands that feed you.
May 7 is in your hands my fellow Singaporeans.
Vote wisely and vote Opposition to represent your voice in Parliament.
      • Huat Ah 1 year 1 month ago
and it will be the PAPs who will have to repent
      • Huat Ah 1 year 1 month ago
Wrong MM, your party does not rule Singapore. It is not a kingdom under monarchical rule. Your party has been elected to govern the country. Now you are admitting that there is no fairness in your party's governing of Singapore. Many Singaporeans should be glad to have this confirmed.

I think also that you are confusing two things in your statement that "either you are for us or against us" if the electorate were to vote for the oppositions. One, PAP is not synonymous with Singapore. You are a political party that got elected into parliament to govern the country. Given time the voting pattern of the electorate would change based on changing circumstances or the lack of confidence in the incumbent or the need to see a coalition government. All are valid reasons for change of hand. Two, voting for one party or another is the sacred right of every citizen. We vote for the party we deem fit to take the country forward and in the direction and manner that we can agree with and support. Voters care for Singapore and how we are developing. You may think that the PAP is the only or right party who knows how to take Singapore forward but we may think otherwise and you need to accept the decision of the people. The spate of unintelligible response from the PAP team is making it clearer what our votes will be. Unless you can produce a more intelligent argument that is convincing, until then threats do not persuade, they dissuade instead. Or has the people 'spoken' already?

TPL wants the food stall owners to freeze their food price for 6 mths. just who does she think she is. Who is going to bear the costs of all raw material increase and the rental increase???

Nicole seah was so sharp in pointing out and is so considerate for the stall owners. I believes Nicole and its NSP team will will served the people much much better. So Vote for NSP.

For so many years, there was no contest and the pap took things for granted. Only now then do GCT realized that there are cracks between.
      • First time voter 1 year 1 month ago
As I have mentioned in my other posts, you think the hawker is stupid? Keep food price for 6 months?? Such arrogance to claim that!! The hawker will just make smaller portions out of the same price you pay! If not enough, you have to add/increase right?? They never increase food price ok..
      • Back2Basic 1 year 1 month ago
Yes, our whole family is voting for Nicole Seah (NSP) in Marine
Parade. We feel that many present policies are making singaporean feeling
        so unsecured.

when i hear about the statement "....6 months period...."....it makes me think of this SOP by other govt agencies........"after repair of the toilet ceiling.......warranty for only 6 months period.....".....exactly same 6 months....hahahahha.....STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE!!!

I am dwelling in Buangkok Crescent area. The last time, the MP visit my residence is
just before the last GE and he say that "vote for PAP' and after winning.
I have not seen him coming to visit the estate..

So, today, the PAP party is coming again but have arranged to visit a few block for the walk-out or buy our heart. Sorry about it. Empty promised.

Nothing have been done to help those who are really in need of money.
I can tell you that those family income who has less than $2,000 and before is
very difficult to survive with such high living standard.

I know many of the well to do or do not have children will never know the
difficulty of these family income below $2,000. My youngest daughter
who is studying in Secondary One this year have classmate who only get
$3 a day for recess and lunch. According to report earlier, there are more
than 30,000 or more Singaporean children going to school with only S$1.00.
There are not one but there are many., plenty. So, the GOVERNMENT
not PAP or opposition should look into this matter CAREFULLY.

I am PITY to those children whose parents do not earn enough to give
you that extra $ to spend for their school recess.
      seriously.
      • Sida 1 year 1 month ago
How much do you want to give to a secondary school student per day is enough? If you give too much, they will only spent it all in a single day, when you give less they learn to be thrifty. I myself is survive primary school with only 50.cents per day, $1.50 per day in secondary and $10 per week in poly even I come from a wealthy family. It is only through this I learn to be thrifty and save whenever I can
      • Election Craze 1 year 1 month ago
Have you scouted around the pricing in the school canteen? Bottled drinks cost $1.10 in primary schools. Please wake up. Prices have sky-rocketed.

What went wrong for the past 5 years in Singapore:

      1) Forecast for Housing
If PAP intends to import so much "foreign talent" n granting PRs freely in the past 5 yrs, why did they not anticipate housing would not be enough which drives up transacted property prices by almost 20% per yr!! By the way, the " asset enhancement" policy by MBT also equates to " lifetime loan enhancement" if u look at the numbers. So do u prefer to work whole life servicing this " highly inflated asset" over ur salary or achieving a financial free status with properly regulated property prices?

      2) Forecast for Employment opportunities for Singaporeans
Again, if they have planned to encourage so many foreign investments into Singaporeans for the past 5 yrs, why did they not nticipate that without proper control of foreign workers ratio for blue collar n white collar jobs, many Singaporeans jobs would be cannabised by job competition among "foreign talent" n Singaporeans. Shouldn't there be control in the quantity n quality of " foreign talent " drifting into the local job markets with many Singaporeans' academic qualifications would surpass theirs in terms of universities' rankings in the world??

      3) Prolonged CPF Minimum Withdrawal Age
Many of us look forward to early retirement at 55 yrs old just like the cabinet Ministers, this double standard totally killed the low n middle income earners' dream of enjoying their lifetime fruits of labour. Why do lower n middle income earners who need the CPF funds the most to substantiate a better quality of life, supplement their medical fee due to old age/ chronic illnesses inadequate Medisave coverage can't even get back their entitlement?? Do u need Cabinet ministers need their pension at 55 yrs old compared to ordinary Singaporeans at over 60 yrs old?? This policy would lead to many social problems such as suicidal, more elderly beggars on the street, void deck campers...

      4) Education system
Look at the kids around you, are they mentally stressed by the demanding education syllabus with the strong emphasis on academic results. Did u see increasing delinquents n child suicides in the recent years. What have gone wrong?? A poor structure of moral, value, increasing demand if better results, banding students according to best to worst classes have strongly killed their morale for studying, working parents not able to provide proper guidance due to current high cost of living...

There are many other upcoming issues n concerns arising from changing plans n policies which need to be addressed, all these can only be heard when there are significant opposition parties to voice out not just before election but for the next 5 yrs n beyond. We may have the best government now, but what is lacking is the checks n monitoring in the policies which may go wrong in the future again. Many worldwide MNCs ensure that checks n monitoring are in place by practicing corporate governance through third party auditing system n implementation of compliance policies. If Singapore welcomes many MNCs into Singapore, it's time to relook n implement good governance through auditing of national funds to benefit all Singaporeans, regardless of wards n allowing alternative parties to provide checks n monitoring of plans n policies which is compliant to national interest. This would provide greater transparency, accountability n most importantly including Singaporeans in exercising their human rights with good moral n values in making Singapore the next first world nation, and not only a first world parliament.

THAT why we need chk and balance from professional right?
      • Song 1 year 0 months ago
I would like to add :
        5) With the privatisation of organisers for social events in SDN, activities are getting more and more expensive with no value added meaning to them. Either the organisers not doing their job and yet still accrediated with the sdn trust mark or same repeated events. In some events, the organiser still proceed with event though the ratio of gals vs guys is 90 to 10. Of course we will have more and more singles in singapore. I would much prefer the older sds and sdu organisers who are from people's association as they are more dedicated to organising events and teaming up the singles.

The cheap cost of FW and whatever strengthening of SGD.....

Does the government pass on the savings to us?
Instead they increase prices and extend Loans....

This is FAIRNESS...and POLICIES you are talking about?
Helping us secure a better future?

No thanks... you are only securing your FAT Taxpayers cheque.

      To Sammie:

I like your unbiased views. I don't study economics and don't have preference for any school of thoughts of economics. I read and observe.

It should be a well known fact the government control about 60% of Singapore's economy through Government Link Companies like Temasek holdings, GIC, NTUC, HDB etc so I am not sure what is the FREE market are you referring to?

The government can control the supply and demand for your example in housing. They can restrict the amount of land to build houses and they can increase the demand by importing foreigners. Every person needs a shelter so the demand would go up, be it rent or buy. So Where is the free market. They control the supply, they set the price, they control the demand so where is the FREE market?

For dangling of money, then I think 500million sembawang project, 5 year town renewal plans for bukit panjang including 3 MRT stations, sound more like pork barrel politics to me, I not sure about you.

For NS, oops, the pain and love of Singapore man, I would like to inform you that most man in the WORLD do not serve NS. so they are all babies. China 1.3billion, US 300million Europe many countries, of population those man don't serve NS, u called them BABIES. I think I east asia only taiwan and singapore has NS, plus Israel in the middle east. haha these man are all babies so our NS BOYS are considered overdoing.

your feeble attempts to white wash the ruling party's failed policies don't sound very appealing with swallow economics depth due to lack of research. I would prefer to believe in Double Master of Economics and former Principle Private Secretary of SM Goh, Mr. Tan Jee Say of SDP. He drafted a 46 pages of economics reform proposal that ask why the government subsidies valuable land at cheap prices to manufacturing industries when these land can be used good for other purposes. Why we spend billions to build 2 casinos to create 35000 jobs of dealers, janglers where we can spend 10milion over 5 years to create 30000 NOBLE jobs like teachers, nurses etc.

Please do not confuse voters by saying opposition proposals are nothing. This time round, opposition candidates are equally of high credentials with a few even more highly qualified qualified than the so called talents ruling party introduced. That's why we seldom hear about qualifications and academic claims from the ruling party this time. Opposition has Dr Chen Show Mao who is a Rhode Scholar of Harvard, Oxford and Stanford, Dr Vincent (my senior, we studied in the same school, he sec 3 I sec 1 haha my wife ask me why it's me not him), Dr Ang, Mr. Tan, Mr Gomez , Mr. Benjamin Pwee...

Why all these capable man and woman stand forward and challenge the policies, they are all over qualified to be town councils managers and each of them are leading good lives of their own. Because the policies are dirty and mistakes unaccountable for. Alternatives can be considered. This piece of land groomed them. They are repaying it to their sons and daughters.

        Hello PAP runner

You can spend all your time reading PAP's bible, Lim Swee Say is talking enough rubbish which no other opposition candidate has done. He call himself leader of trade Union ! Only jokers like you can appreciate such crap.

Thanks for the growth package. I will stand by this money to pay fines and the expected ever increasing bills under the PAP power.

When you take a long distance bus trip or take a flights, there is always a driver and a co driver, There's always a pilot and a co pilot. How can the co drivers ever step the brake when the driver are driving or steer off difference direction?? Where can you find a double steering wheels in a car???

After a long distance driving, the driver needs to change shift and rest while the co driver take over the bus and move on to the destination safely.

Mr. Lee, In your next oversea trip, please check with the co pilot whether can the co pilot steer in the difference direction or step on the brake when the pilots wants to take off ????

If you lost a few ministers, do not worry. There are plenty of reserves to take over their jobs and those ministers who lost the election, plenty of good jobs are available for them.

However if you lost a few capable opposition members, you have to wait for another 10-20 years. During these years, walk-over, walk-over... will be again and again like what happened in the past. Do you want it to happen?

Change for the better? Yes, we should.

I been to 3 rallies. 2 by Workers Party at Hougang and Serrangon and another one at Potong Pasir by Chiam See Tong. Obviously some of us not from the opposition constituities but came down to support the opposition causes. There are many of us liked minded.

The PAP rallies i think yahoo do not have to publish because the PAP grassroots all over the island will get CC to ferry aunties and uncles going after that free chicken rice and drink and those PAP freebies to be given out free. These aunties and uncles most are uneducated and there to eat your rice. PAP is really pathetic , resort in giving chicken rice to ferry people all over the island.

Wheras the oppositions, i saw people buying flag at 2 dollars but give 50 dollars no need change. i see people quening out madly buying opposition flags and umbrellas. I see people coming from all over the island on their OWN accord to support the opposition causes. We stand there for 3 hours but feel is all worth the pain because SINGAPORE need true servants to serve the PEOPLE needs.

Common sense question to all Singaporeans:
If there is a lone shark or gangster that keeps on harrassing, bullying and threatening you, what are you going to do?
    • Sg voter  •  1 year 1 month ago
Dear Singaporeans, especially those working in Civil Service, your vote is secret.
Do no believe in rumours that the govt will trace your vote and jeopardise your career.
The civil servants residing in Opposition wards of Hougang and Potong Pasir had been voting for the Opposition for years, yet nothing heppens to them and they continue working for the govt.
Do not be afraid and vote with your heart.
Vote wisely and vote for OPPOSITION to represent our voice in parliament.
    • Goh  •  1 year 1 month ago
      Ai Yo! Yo!

The very hard truth is this round of recruitment are Judy Puppets like T27, Choo at Hougang
and maNY MORE puppets who can only talk about upgrading the walkways so that you will not get caught in the rain!

Talking nonsense only! When the strong winds blow, you are still wet!

We really need 33 Auditors to enter into Parliament
Opposition don't really need to tell us what they can do for us because
all the money is in PAP's Big Pockets

We choose 33 Opposition Candidates to be Auditors hor!
Auditors only need to question the PAP Ministers
as to why are they getting 8 Months bonus
when many senior citizens are selling tissue papers
and digging aluminium cans from the dust bin huh?

Anything wrong having a Co-Driver? We passengers know jolly well that the PAP Driver is putting us in danger therefore we've the initiative to expect the UNEXPECTED as such we call the Co-Driver in to prepare every one of us from danger can die nvr mind what if only half dead?? Worst than die cos can't afford medical treatment that will rob us like nobody business.

      @Real Fact,
How many months of bills can you pay with the cheapskate growth package?
      You can be easily bribed.

I will vote for the NSP and kick-out a SM. Thus save million of dollars. This hugh sum of money can then channel to charity for the poor and weak.

Have been a strong PAP supporter for past elections, but not this one.The way they talked is threatening Voters, who has the right to choose to change.Singapore belong to Singaporeans,
not to any political party.Since they talk this way die,die will give my vote to any opposition party contesting in my area.I wish WP's Aljunied GRC will win on 7/5 to represent us in Parliament
to "check & balance" Government's policies.Surprisingly PAP may loose couple of GRCs
and SMCs.This is a democratic country and to have Oppositions in Parliament is perfectly
normal and healthy as they are representing the voices and eyes of Singaporeans.
Please do not threaten us,we will not bend.
    • Paymee Moore  •  1 year 1 month ago
      @ Real Fact,
Thank you for your prediction on PAP wining a Big Sweep after losing Aljunied GRC. I do not know which god do you pray, they must pretty accurate. Oh, you mentioned that PAP pay you to vote for them. Please don't hide this lobang to yourself. PAP just sold the Power Station, where do they get the power from??

talking about sp services - if u owe them anything more than $700, they immediately threaten to cut the supplies unless the outstanding is paid. how imcompassionate they are? stop increasing the rates so that we could see better days!
    • dd  •  1 year 1 month ago
How many of you out there have parents/in-laws or even grandparents who are still working now tho they are very old. My parents are 65 now and still working very hard everyday. Me and my siblings give them allowance every month but that's not enough. They are still paying HDB housing loan (all thanks to en-block on those flats with majority old citizens), expensive bills etc. We also have our own family to support and have limited funds to give them.

Do you feel sad whenever you see your parents still working so hard? Do you think they deserve to stay at home and spend time with grandchildren? How many more years would they be around to be with us?

      Dear Fellow Singaporeans,

I have already been to WP rally at Serangoon Stadium and NSP rally at whampoa.

The attendance of the WP rally at Serangoon Stadium was ++,+++ number of people.

The attendance of the NSP rally at Whampoa was +,+++ number of people. (no MRT or even Bus entering near that location). The nearest bus stop is like 200m away and only 2 or 3 buses cover that route. Super Oulu

The attendance of PAP rally at Yio Chu Kang Stadium was 0,+++ number of people. (MRT AND EVEN BUS INTERCHANGE WAS THERE).

If attendance at rallies would mean votes, looks like PAP will be in lots of trouble....

I have seen an Prof guess that Opps will win 1 GRC and 3 or 4 SMC's.

I SINCERELY HOPE, OPPS WIN A LOT MORE THAN THAT!!!! At least 5 GRC's and 5 SMC's.

Just bear with it for a few more days... Our VOTES will be made and finally, our voices will be heard!!! and no one can change it!!!!

Opps dare to speak up for US!!! Shouldnt we SUPPORT THEM BY VOTING FOR THEM???

PAP says Opps got no track record! 82 out of 84 seats belongs to PAP, how the hell Opps going to show track record....

My friend told me that his friend's father passed away (staying in Hougang). Mr LKT came to the wake at 12+ midnight. The first thing he did was apologise for coming so late... because he had a lot of work to do... This man has heart otherwise, he wont be able to be elected AGAIN and AGAIN into his elected Parliament Seat.

I have only seen PAP cut ribbons and at parties or carnivals.

Please dont get me wrong. I am not trying to CARRY BALLS for Opps. I stay in AMK, I have never come into contact with OPPS ever... because I have always been staying in a PAP ward... Come to think of it, I have never seen any PAP MPs at all whilst staying in AMK. Of course I know PM is MP of AMK, the rest, so sorry, no clue at ALL!!! I wonder why???
    • John  •  1 year 1 month ago
I could only hope that those ministers with PAP could wake up and start thinking what went wrong otherwise they are going to lose big this time.

Instead of keep telling us how good they were, which obviously not completely true, why don't they start telling us how to bring our life back to normal? PAP has done some good, yes, but certainly not for the last 5 years and more.

Please stop threatening us that we will regret for bringing who we believe that should represent us. Why don't you ministers start checking with those citizens in Potong Pasir and Hougang whether they regret voted their leaders into parliament? I very much doubt so.
