Rocket Internet’s real estate venture Lamudi expands into Pakistan and the Philippines

Following its entry into Myanmar last October, Rocket Internet’s real estate venture has now quietly moved into Pakistan and the Philippines.

Lamudi is a business-to-consumer and consumer-to-consumer platform for real estate listings. It is now present in 16 countries globally and has nearly 1 million monthly visitors. The company has not yet disclosed a country-by-country breakdown of its visitors throughout Asia.

To up the ante, Lamudi has also optimized its site for mobile use. Co-founder Kian Moini says the team wants to be part of the fledging mobile commerce movement. He adds:

With our investments into m-Commerce we will have another strong channel in place to support the transition from offline to online. Furthermore, we will sign up more agents and partners in future to increase the number of our listings to provide the best value for our customers.

The Lamudi team states that an app will launch in the coming months. It’s also expected to expand in a few more countries in Asia within the year.
