MARKETS-KOREA-STOCKS (UPDATE 2)=2

Local institutions bought a net 224 billion won worth of shares on the main board, and foreign investors a net 89 billion won. Individual investors sold a net 343 billion won worth of shares.

Advancers led decliners by 420 to 338, with 117 issues ending unchanged.

A total of 272 million shares worth 4.9 trillion won changed hands, compared with 295 million shares worth 4.9 trillion won on Tuesday.

The KOSPI 200 December futures index <KSc1> rose 2.05 points to 211.50, and the KOSPI 200 spot index <.KS200> added 2.56 points to 211.56.

The junior Kosdaq market <.KQ11> edged up 0.13 percent to close at 472.54.
