11 Sep – It was revealed that Seung-ri will be joining the production of the Japanese popular manga turned drama, "Kindaichi".
According to Dkpopnews website, Big Bang's agency YG Entertainment revealed, "Seung-ri was casted for the Japanese special drama "The Files of Young Kindaichi: Hong Kong Kowloon Treasure Murder Case"."
The two-hour special will be featuring Japanese idol group Hey! Say! JUMP member Yamada Ryosuke in the lead role of the popular detective Kindaichi Hajime. It also features Taiwanese actor Wu Chun and Vivian Hsu as well as Hong Kong's Eric Tsang alongside Big Bang's Seung-ri.
It was revealed that Seung-ri will be playing the role of an exchange student from Korea who became a suspect in the crime while he was in Hong Kong. The singer was quoted saying, "I'm nervous but I really want to do well. I hope I'll be able to enjoy filming the drama."
The first half of the filming will take place in Hong Kong in mid-September before returning to Japan.
