Kuala Lumpur (The Star/ANN) - The man who threatened his ex-girlfriend to be his sex slave and post her nude pictures on his Facebook account has made a statutory declaration to stop harassing her.
MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong said he had met up with the man, Teh, 29, who works in the IT industry, and the woman, Woon, 29, who was with her two lawyers, on Thursday.
He said Teh had apologised for what he had done.
"He has promised that all her pictures in his possession will be destroyed and has also promised that he will stop disturbing her,¿ said Chong.
On Monday, Chong highlighted that Teh had threatened Woon, a divorcee and a mother of two children, aged five and four, to be his sex slave and would expose some 80 of her naked pictures via his Facebook account if she refused.
Chong said he gave Teh a stern warning and that if he should choose to put up Woon's nude pictures, he would put up his pictures to show the kind of man he was.
Woon's lawyers have appealed to the police to drop the case since the statutory declaration was made but it would be up to the police to decide whether they would prosecute him.
Chong said he received 14 complaints of such threats last year and three this year.
Out of the 14 cases, nine women admitted that they had had sexual relationships with the men who threatened them; while five young men were threatened by con men who said they would post their nude pictures on the Internet.
Chong said he had warned women many times against having their nude pictures taken, but such incidents were still happening.
He urged women victims to go to the MCA Wanita wing on the 7th floor of the party headquarters on Wednesday from 10am to noon to lodge complaints with Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Senator Datuk Heng Seai Kie, since female victims were more comfortable revealing their cases to a woman.
All cases would be treated with confidentiality, he added.
