Sharon Au to star in "The LKY Musical"

13 Apr - TV personality and actress Sharon Au is set to return to the stage to play the role of Mdm. Kwa Geok Choo, the wife of the late Mr. Lee Kuan Yew in the upcoming stage production, "The LKY Musical".

According to The Straits Times, the announcement was made during a press conference held this morning, which also revealed that the role of Singapore's founding Prime Minister will be played by theatre veteran Adrian Pang.

"The LKY Musical", to be produced in commemoration of Singapore's 50th year of independence, will highlight the struggles faced by Mr. Lee and his companions during the hard times in Singapore's history.

Other stars include singer Sebastian Tan as Koh Teong Koo, and Benjamin Chow who will play the late opposition politician, Lim Chin Siong.

The musical will open on 24 July at the MasterCard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands.

Sharon is no stranger to theatre works. She has starred in several productions including "I Have a Date with Spring" (1995), "A Tinted Edge" (2000), and "Happy Ghost" (2003).
