Singapore’s Budget statement to be delivered on 21 February at 3:30pm

Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam will deliver the 2014 Budget statement Friday next week at 3:30pm in Parliament, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said on Wednesday.

The speech will be broadcast “live” on Channel NewsAsia and on radio station 938Live. There will also be a ‘live” webcast of the speech on the Singapore Budget website, Channel NewsAsia website and on MediaCorp’s Toggle website.

There will be social media updates on the Budget speech posted on MOF’s official Facebook page and Twitter account. The Twitter hashtag #SGBudget will be used.

The speech will also be live-streamed on the SG Budget 2014 mobile app. The app will be available for download on the iTunes App store and Google Play after 18 January.

Members of the public may also choose to receive the Budget statement through email, by subscribing to the Budget statement mailing list on the Singapore Budget website. The subscription service will be available until 20 February, 7:30pm.

After the delivery of the Budget statement, members of the public may submit their views on the Budget initiatives online through the Singapore Budget website , the REACH Budget microsite , REACH Singapore Facebook, REACH Singapore Twitter (@REACH_Singapore) and email.

On 26 February, there will be a public forum about the Budget speech, organised by REACH.

On Sunday 2 March, there will be a ‘live’ chat on the REACH Facebook page.

Over the weekend of 1st and 2nd March, the public can also visit the REACH Listening Post located at Jurong Point to share their views.
