Singaporean murdered in Jakarta

A Singaporean man in his 40s was found dead in his North Jakarta apartment on Saturday.

According to local reports, the police found the man, identified as Chellapan Karunanidhi, in his 20th-floor apartment lying face down with a stab wound to his neck.

Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be assisting the family of the victim, who was a specialist in the energy sector, reported my paper.

Police reportedly suspect the murderer to have known the victim as a keycard is needed to gain entry into the apartment.

Evidence, including a kitchen knife which could be the murder weapon, has been gathered for the investigation.
