A last-minute surge in votes propelled SingTel to the top spot of a Yahoo! poll asking readers which telco they thought had the best 3G network in Singapore.
Until the last day of the week-long unscientific poll, which expired on Monday evening, M1 led in the votes but slipped to second place in the final tally.
From a total of 19,378 votes cast, SingTel emerged the winner with 42 per cent of votes.
M1 ended up with 36 per cent while StarHub garnered 22 per cent of the votes.
The poll was conducted after a complaint on Facebook from a SingTel customer about the local telco’s 3G network went viral.
Based on comments, however, many Yahoo! readers felt there should be an option for ‘None of the above’ as they believe the 3G network across the three telcos are equally poor.
User Simple Botak said, “All three need to improve their coverage and network capacity.”
Another user, Amnar, added, “I have been switching from M1 to StarHub to SingTel. And I can say that all have their own problem.”
Worker's Party Chairman Sylvia Lim has challenged Dr Teo Ho Pin to make a report to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) if he believes that the WP had mismanaged the Town Council.
