If you’re an aspiring technopreneur based outside Silicon Valley, you can do a lot worse than Singapore, where there are plenty of opportunities. And if creating mobile app experiences is your sort of thing, you ought to check out Mobile Ventures (MoVe) Fellowship 2012.
Initiated by Standard Chartered Bank, in partnership with the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), the fellowship is looking for 10 software engineers to undertake a traineeship programme in mobile app design and development.
The one-year programme is part of the bank’s in-house mobile development team, and the positions will be based right here in Singapore.
The apps these trainees design will be based on banking and finance for Standard Chartered’s customers to access its services on-the-go.
Although the application page does not state the number of years of relevant experience as a prerequisite, applicants must be familiar with mobile app or Web development and have knowledge of any relational databases, such as MySQL or Oracle.
Such low pre-requisites could mean that applicants will be going up against loads of other aspiring technopreneurs. There is, however, no word on the remuneration or salary you can expect, but Standard Chartered told Techgoondu that it is very competitive with the industry for full-time IT graduates.
