Stephen Chow and Tsui Hark to collaborate

4 Feb – Rumours are rife that comedy auteur Stephen Chow and master cinematographer-director Tsui Hark will be working together to bring the sequel of Stephen Chow's hit 2013 film, "Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons", to life.

According to HK Channel, the two filmmakers reportedly will be collaborating under the production of Alibaba Pictures, which will invest RMB400 million (approximately USD63.9 million) for the film.

It is said that original cast members, Shu Qi, Huang Bo, and Wen Zhang will return for the sequel, though Tsui Hark will replace Stephen as the director. The latter, however, will continue to work on the film as a producer.

The sequel will begin its production after the conclusion of Stephen's "Mermaid", tentatively scheduled in August.

However, when asked to address the rumours, the comedy man declined to comment.
