Supermodel Du Juan joins Peter Chan's new movie

22 Sep – It was revealed that Hong Kong director Peter Chan has found his new muse for his upcoming film, "American Dreams in China" in the form of Chinese supermodel Du Juan.

According to Asian Bite website, Du Juan will be making her movie debut as a proud Peking University graduate who aims to study abroad.

According to Peter Chan, a photo of the 30-year-old supermodel in a fashion magazine caught his attention and he then decided that he had found his lead actress.

Inspired by the legendary New Oriental School, "American Dreams in China" tells the story of three young men who established an English-language training school in China in the 1980s. It stars actors Deng Chao, Huang Xiao Ming and Tong Da Wei and the movie is currently in production in New York.

Meanwhile, garnering the title of China's first internationally recognised supermodel, Du Juan became the first Asian model to grace the cover of the French Vogue and named one of 2006 Fall Season's top ten model to watch for by Style.com.
