Supporters wearing ‘I am not a yes man’ T-shirt welcome Muhyiddin at KLIA, says report

Axed deputy prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was greeted by some 100 supporters who wore T-shirts with the words "I am not a yes man", upon his return from Australia this morning, Malaysiakini reported. The supporters, said to be from various Umno divisions in Johor, had been waiting for him at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport since 7:30am. His brother Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Yassin was also present to greet the Umno deputy president and his wife Puan Seri Noorainee Abdul Rahman who were returning after a two-week holiday. Malaysiakini said the crowd clapped loudly when the couple emerged, and also hugged and shook hands with Muhyiddin. Muhyiddin then spent 20 minutes with those gathered, and was given the black T-shirt with the wordings which also featured his image on the front. The former education minister declined to speak to the press, the news portal said. Muhyiddin was removed from the Cabinet by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on July 28 after openly questioning Putrajaya's handling of debt-ridden 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB). He has continued to speak critically, advising Umno leaders not to listen to those who agreed with everything they said but to consider dissenting views as well. "It is problematic when we are leaders and are surrounded by those who say 'it's OK sir, things are so good, don't worry sir, everything is OK, sir, yes sir'," Muhyiddin had said in his speech when launching the Pagoh Umno division delegates’ meeting in Johor last month. – September 2, 2015.
