Joe Allen has been handed his Liverpool debut in Saturday's Premier League opening clash with West Bromwich Albion.
The Welshman signed for the Reds last Friday but missed out on making an appearance in the weekend friendly win over Bayer Leverkusen due to a paperwork issue.
He is joined in the line-up by Premier League debutant Fabio Borini but manager Brendan Rodgers has been forced to shuffle his defence with Martin Kelly replacing the injured Jose Enrique and Glen Johnson moving over to left-back.
West Brom starting XI: Foster; Reid, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell; Mulumbu, Yacob; Morrison; Gera, Long, Odemwingie.
Subs: Myhill, Jara, Dawson, Brunt, El Ghanassy, Fortune, Lukaku.
Liverpool starting XI: Reina; Kelly, Agger, Skrtel, Johnson; Lucas, Allen, Gerrard; Downing, Borini, Suarez.
Subs: Jones, Carragher, Adam, Henderson, Shelvey, Cole, Carroll.
