TVB to show uncensored version of "The Empress of China"

19 Mar – Hong Kong's television giant, TVB, has recently bought the right to broadcast Fan Bingbing's period drama, "The Empress of China", and will be making several changes to it before its official broadcast in April.

As reported on On CC News, the series, now one of the highest rated series in mainland China, is scheduled to be broadcasted seven days a week, and will be a different version than the one aired in mainland China, which has been heavily edited due to the cleavage-bearing costumes worn by the actresses.

TVB Executive Catherine Tsang stated, "No one has seen our version yet. We have reduced the series by ten episodes, and it will be different than the mainland version. We hope the viewers will appreciate our uncensored version."

In addition to the changes, Hong Kong diva Joey Yung has also been invited to sing the Cantonese version of the drama's theme song.
