Tyson Foods cited for alleged violations in Neb.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has issued 10 violations against a Tyson Foods Inc. meatpacking plant in northeast Nebraska.

The federal agency on Tuesday cited the Dakota City plant for one repeat and nine serious violations following safety and health inspections initiated in May. The alleged violations include failing to ensure that fixed ladders were maintained in a safe condition and that personal protective equipment was worn when necessary.

    Proposed fines total $71,500.

Arkansas-based Tyson Foods has 15 days to respond. Company spokesman Gary Mickelson said they are reviewing OSHA's concerns.

OOPs, someone forgot to put some money in the Obama re-election pot. Just a little reminder from OSHA and AP. I love the way this headline doesn't state OSHA violations, so the reader assumes it is health violations. Great work AP. It should be AAP, AntiAmerican Press. Oh yah, and my original comment.........BIG Frig'N DEAL!!!
