US 'virtual embassy' for Iran under threat from hackers

London, Nov 2(ANI): The Islamic Union of Iranian Students (IUIS) has vowed to break in and occupy a "virtual" United States embassy website for Iran due to be launched this year. According to the Telegraph, the embassy website will include information on American education programmes as well as visa requirements to assist Iranians in bypassing government curbs on Internet use. However, IUIS Union Secretary Seyed Ali Mousavi said: "We will not allow the United States to enter Iran." The US and Iran have not had diplomatic relations since 1979, when a group of Islamic students took American diplomats hostage in the US embassy in Tehran following Iran's revolution. Currently, Iranians wanting to travel to the US have to ask for visas in the United Arab Emirates or in Turkey. (ANI)
