Punggol East by-election: Y! speaks to PE residents

Demonstrators in the Turkish border town of Reyhanli clash with riot police during an anti-government protest over recent deadly bomb attacks. Sunita Rappai reports.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel flew to Rome to meet Pope Francis just days after he made a speech calling for financial reform. Responding to the criticism, Merkel told reporters that the financial scandals demonstrated that crucial checks and balances had not been observed. Her Christian Democrat party relies heavily on the Catholic vote.

Protestors have clashed with police in Reyhanli during an anti-government demonstration following the deadly twin car bombings which struck the Turkish town bordering Syria. Hundreds marched to protest against the government who they say did not do enough to prevent the attacks that killed over fifty people last week.
