Vietnamese woman found dead at Woodlands block

A Vietnamese woman was found dead at the foot of a block in Woodlands early Wednesday morning, nearly six months after a corpse was discovered in a water tank of the same block.

Truong Thi Ngoh Anh, 26, is believed to have fallen to her death from the sixth story of block 686B Woodlands Street 73, reported Shin Min Daily News and Lianhe Wanbao.

Her bra, clothes and personal possessions such as a black handbag and a pink mobile phone were found near her body.

While Lianhe Wanbao reported that Truong was in Singapore on a social visit pass and does not live there, Shin Min Daily News says that she is a prostitute.

Lee, a female resident who lives on the 14th story, said she heard a loud crashing sound. "I was watching movies on my mobile phone and was plugged in to my earphones but I could still hear the sound, so you can imagine how loud it was," she said.

A man in his 30s has been singled out by residents for frequently bringing foreign women, who often look Filipino or Chinese, home late in the night, residents told the papers.

The man led plainclothes officers to a rubbish dump at block 960C in search of evidence.

Police have classified the case as unnatural death and are investigating.

Why is that Yahoo! so biased to Aljunied GRC? Why can't Yahoo! posted some others photo in Tanjong Pagar GRC or Ang Mo Kio GRC or Marine Parade GRC...

Yahoo reporters are still sleeping, have not wakeup yet. Most of their reports are so backdated, is considered 3rd or 4th hands news where other medias already deleted from their sites.

Since the victim's bra, clothes, handbag, etc, were found near her body, it could only mean she was not wearing anything when she fell and that someone had deliberately and quickly deposited all these items to look like she had commited suicide or for whatever reason! More and more FTs dying in strange and unexplanable circumstances.

Let the news spread around the the world so that hookers all over the world will be afraid to come. Republic of Singapore is not as safe as people think.

@Teo - Females from China and Viet only hv 30 days (the most 60-day visa-free) to ply their trade and once the time is up, they will hv to leave SIN. This particular Viet woman must be a long-term stayer trying to make as much as she can but die before she can enjoy the fruits of her labour! Compared to other countries, SIN is still "safe" despite the occasional mishaps.

So young. So tragic. Whatever the reason for her death the police should investigate fully. And if there is any foul play then the person responsible should be brought to justice.

There are no problems with the HDB block or Woodlands. The problem lies with this man who keeps bringing back all kinds of foreign women back into his home. Finally, this Vietnamese woman exposes him and makes him answerable for all he had done. Don't blame this lady for adding to the foreign population Woodlands. Let her rest in peace.

I had been to Vietnam and spoken to the local. The ladies working in the market selling clothes have to work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day. And their monthly salary is...USD80 per month. I believe if there is a choice, most ladies will not want to sell their body for money. She had lost her life just to make more money, so do give her some respect.

the ICA should go down to those KTVs in Geylang, Jalan Besar, Jalan Sultan and many others to see for themselves....many of those so-called 'tourists' on social visit pass can be found inside

Singapore seems to be a land of hope for many from difficult countries.... but end in despair and desperation when they come here.....Coming here is hard enough...but to survive here can be life threatening in every sense of the word...Just take a trip in our expensive cabs as a visitor and you can end up flat broke!...or have a meal which can feed a family over a week in eg Vietnam or Cambodia....

It is sad that while some people live in such wondrous riches and even extravagance, there are plenty of people who are lonely enough to resort to acquiring such services and some women (and perhaps men) who are financially desperate enough to provide such services.

I think that as automation improves and the gap between the rich and the poor continue to increase, unnatural and unfortunate deaths such as these will only become more common in Singapore.

Crime rate in Singapore is on a rise...sad gone are the days where I can just leave my door ajar and neighbours were your closest "relatives".
