Chicago-based indie act OK Go released its latest viral video on Sunday for the track "Needing/Getting" in which the band stages "a full-blown vehicular spectacular" featuring more than 1,000 handmade instruments, 55 pianos, countless guitars and one silver Chevy Sonic.
"Part Baja rally, part demolition derby, all ingenious, it features the fearless quartet speeding along a desert track, making hair-pin turns, and very nearly wrecking -- all while using the car itself to bash out the tune," reviews MTV.
OK Go is acclaimed for the breakout music video for "Here It Goes Again" with the trademark treadmills gone wild, as well as other videos, including the Rube Goldberg maze of "This Too Shall Pass" and "All Is Not Lost" with dance troupe Pilobolus. The band’s videos have received more than 137 million hits on YouTube.
The clip premiered Sunday (February 5) on MTV.com and was seen in Chevy's commercial during Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVI in the US.
