This week on Youtube: a whole lot of beautiful violence

March has been and will continue to be a big month for gaming. We’ve already seen anticipated games like Titanfall released and will continue to see J-Stars Victory Vs, Infamous Second Son, and more come out before the month’s done. To hype up these releases, we got some pretty sweet trailers. Here are my five favorites from last week.

Infamous Second Son

We all know that Infamous Second Son will be action-packed and explosion-heavy, but were you aware that this game is going to be one of the most beautiful games you’ve ever played? Well Sucker Punch put together a 2 minute clip with the designers both explaining and showing what they were able to do with this new Infamous.

J-Stars Victory Vs

Bandai Namco throws out a half dozen videos featuring characters from J-Stars Victory Vs every single week, but this thirteen-minute promotion video was especially notable. All 52 playable characters were given the chance to show off their movesets, and they did not disappoint. The video also showed that the characters will have specific preset dialogues that change depending on who they will face next. Some of which are pretty hilarious.

J-Stars Victory Vs will be available in Japan this coming Wednesday, March 19 for both the Playstation 3 and Vita.

Soul Calibur Lost Swords: Hilde

J-Stars Victory Vs wasn’t the only thing Bandai Namco was plugging on Youtube last week, the company also posted videos for the new Soul Calibur Lost Swords. The most interesting of which was the announcement of Hilde as a playable character. Hilde seems to be fast, agile, and has some fairly powerful physical attacks. She also proves that not all girls in video games where bikinis into battle.

This free-to-play fighter has already launched in Japan, and will be available in Europe later this spring.

The Order 1886

The Order 1886 isn’t set for release until later this fall, but Ready at Dawn thought it was time to reveal a gameplay trailer for this shooter. And man I’m happy they did. This game looks incredible. In an alternate history a group of half breeds, combination of animal and man, have taken to terrorizing the streets and a group of men have been charged with keeping the peace.

Yoshi’s New Island

Nintendo just released a new trailer for Yoshi’s New Island for 3DS and it proves once and for all that this little dinosaur makes the coolest and cutest noises. On top of showing us just how adorable Yoshi can be, this new trailer also shows off this platformer’s creative level design and puzzles. This game wasn’t even on my radar, but after seeing this trailer, I’ve added Yoshi’s New Island to my list.

The game launches today in western markets, but will be coming to Japan later this summer.
