Whitney Port fears fashion failing

Whitney Port “continually” worries about failing.

The 27-year-old star launched her clothing line Whitney Eve in 2008. Whitney shot to fame in the reality TV show The Hills, before starring in the spin-off series The City.

She has found it difficult to be taken seriously in the fashion industry, but has vowed to carry on designing collections.

“I can’t deny my history and I’m not ashamed of it. It was never a goal of mine to be a reality TV star and at times I didn’t find the [cameras] easy. But I have [The City] to thank for giving me exposure,” she told British magazine Look. “I worry people think I’m a designer just for the sake of it, and I continually worry about failing, but I’m just going to work hard until I make it.”

Whitney’s fourth collection will show in New York later this year and she has also designed a jewellery range.

She feels inspired by famous faces such as Victoria Beckham who have made the transition from celebrity to fashion designer.

“Oh, I’m a huge fan of Victoria’s work… and all British fashion,” Whitney gushed.
