World’s Longest Water Slide Is So Long You’ll Be Bored By The End

Good to see they’ve been keeping busy over at Action Park in New Jersey where they’ve built a 2,000ft waterslide - the world’s longest, by the Guinness Book of World Records’ reckoning.

The megaslide took 600 working hours to build and uses up 1,000 gallons of water every hour.

The slide was developed as a tourist attraction by New Zealander Jimi Hunt, and although test runs have been successful, there’s still the small matter of state approval to get through before the public can get sliding. The park hopes to open it to the public in 2016.

One of Action Park’s employees has been down the inflatable slide wearing a GoPro to give you a feel for what it will be like to slide down - it takes between a minute and 90 seconds to get all the way from start to finish, by which time you’ll be wrinkled like a prune and ready to never go on a water slide ever again.
