Won Bin's quickie appearance at Burberry store opening

After rippling the hearts of girls with his endearing portrayal of an unrequited and steadfast lover in Autumn in My Heart, Korean heartthrob Won Bin moved on to the silver screen and took on two epic war movies in 2004, The Brotherhood of War and My Brother.

At the peak of his career with two successful movies, his career was suddenly disrupted when he received his enlistment notice to enter the army in November 2005. After his early release from the military in 2006, the 32-year-old actor finally decided on his comeback project, Mother, in 2008.

One of the special guests at the official opening ceremony of Burberry's store opening at ION Orchard, Won Bin made a whirlwind appearance at about 8.30pm and was gone like the wind soon after. Despite his long hiatus, a crowd of 30 fans started to gather at the event's red carpet walk since 6pm in the evening, eagerly awaiting their idol's arrival.

Cameras and handphones were whipped out in every single direction and a barrage of flash bulbs went off when Won Bin arrived with his entourage of stylists and bodyguards. Sporting longer locks than usual, the media went into a little frenzy when he was ushered to the photo-taking area.

Screams of "Oppa! (Brother in Korean)" were heard when he briefly paused in his tracks and greeted fans with a wave. With his genteel features, the Korean actor adjusted his hair and smiled with slightly pursed lips. It was a snap-and-go photo-taking opportunity as Won Bin was quickly ushered into the store.

Standing before one of the many large projector screens set-up in the Burberry store, Won Bin was surrounded by his entourage of bodyguards and a group of excited female guests. As if uncomfortable with the limelight, the actor avoided making direct eye contact with his surroundings and shied away from the cameras. The commotion in the store died down when he walked into the VVIP area shortly after.

Armed with cameras and mobile phones, a small crowd of over 10 female fans patiently waited for him to make his way out. After 20 minutes of waiting, with a slight smile on his face, he finally resurfaced and swiftly made his way out to his car with a pack of adoring fangirls following behind his trail.

Apart from Won Bin, Chinese actress Li Bing Bing, creative director of Burberry Christopher Bailey, and local celebrities such as Zoe Tay, Christopher Lee, and Jacelyn Tay were also present at the event.
