YoonA paired with Jang Geun-suk

20 Sep – SNSD's YoonA has been confirmed to play a leading role alongside actor Jang Geun-suk in the anticipated new drama, "Love Rain".

According to dkpopnews website quoting the production team: "It took a long time to find the right actress – someone in their early twenties with a 'pure' image. YoonA has proven her acting chops in 'You Are My Destiny' and 'Cinderella Man' and the team has high hopes."

"Love Rain" is a love story between a man and woman who meet in college in the 1970s. It is a fantasy melodrama with both Jang Geun-suk and YoonA playing dual roles. It is said to be highly anticipated by drama fans as it reunites director Yoon Seok-ho and writer Oh Soo-yeon of "Autumn in My Heart" and "Winter Sonata" for the first time in 10 years.

YoonA commented: "It's an honour and a dream come true to be able to work with Yoon Seok-ho. His earlier dramas 'Autumn in My Heart' and 'Winter Sonata' touched me. It'll be my first drama in a while, so I will do my best to meet everyone's expectations."

Asked to comment about the singer, Yoon Seok-ho praised YoonA by saying: "I'm confident that YoonA's fresh and innocent beauty will make the love story shine even brighter."
