YouTube Space opens in São Paulo

The world's most popular video sharing platform is bringing its collaborative studio concept to Brazil following success in the US, UK and Japan.

YouTube claims that Brazil is home to one of its most vibrant communities of video creators and that the country itself is one of YouTube's biggest global audiences.

To help support Brazilian video-makers and to help encourage more people to try content creation, YouTube is partnering with Instituto Criar, a non-profit organization that offers filmmaking education, to bring its Space concept to São Paulo.

YouTube Space is a production facility that promotes collaboration, innovation and experimentation. It is a place where people can come to learn about cameras, editing and video creation via workshops, training and hands-on experience using the latest digital equipment and a dedicated studio.

The YouTube Space initiative stated in 2012 and to date has attracted over 30,000 people who have attended 450 workshops and created over 6000 videos that have been viewed a total of 750 million times.
