T-Team coach Yunus Alif is a worried man now, after watching his team lose 2-0 to ATM in a friendly match on Tuesday.
Yunus believes his players are finding it difficult to play as a team because their three new signings have not adjusted to the way the team normally plays yet.
“Things did get a little better a day later but we still lost 2-1 to Felda United FC and that was because our three on-loan signings did not look comfortable playing alongside their new teammates,” he told The New Straits Times.
Yunus said it will take time before Sabah’s Sumardi Hajalan and Shahrul Azhar Ture, and Mohd Fauzi Abdul Majid from Police, can combine well with the existing players.
However, the 54-year-old coach re-iterated his belief that T-Team can at the very least match their achievement of qualifying to the semi-finals of the same competition last year, once the team gels.
"Selangor may just be the strongest team in the group but we have beaten them a few times in the past few years.
"Sarawak and Pahang may also fancy their chances but I am not too worried, knowing my boys and their desire to challenge for honours in this competition," he concluded.
