1,000 candles lit in Tallinn and Riga in solidarity with Ukraine
The 1,000th day of Ukraine’s resistance is commemorated through acts of solidarity in Latvia and Estonia.
Candles are lit, then remelted into trench candles that are sent to Ukraine, providing practical aid during the winter months.
Events include collective workshops to create Ukrainian flags and evenings of talks where Ukrainians share their experiences.
These symbolic and practical gestures strengthen the bond between these nations and Ukraine, expressing support, hope, and unity.
