1 local transmission among 11 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore
SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Sunday (4 July) confirmed the detection of 11 new cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore, taking the country's total case count to 62,617.
There is one new case of locally transmitted infection, who is currently unlinked, said MOH in a news release.
The remaining 10 cases are imported and have already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated since their arrival in Singapore. Nine of these cases were detected upon arrival while one developed the illness during SHN or isolation.
Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 95 cases in the week before to 26 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also fallen from 17 cases in the week before to two cases in the past week. The seven-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 3.4 and 0.3 respectively.
There are currently 24 active clusters, ranging between three and 93 infections. As there have been no more cases linked to the Case 63931 and Tektronix clusters for the past two incubation periods, or 28 days, the clusters have now been closed.
The three largest clusters currently are 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Food Centre with 93 cases, MINDSville@Napiri with 33 cases, and 105 Henderson Crescent with 20 cases.
In all, 103 cases are currently warded in hospital, most of whom are well and under observation. There are currently 10 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and two in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Apart from the 36 patients who have died from COVID-19 complications, 15 others who tested positive for the virus were determined to have died from unrelated causes, including three whose deaths were attributed to a heart attack and another four, whose deaths were attributed to coronary heart disease.
Over the last 28 days, 22 local cases required oxygen supplementation, were admitted to ICU or passed away. Of these, 19 are unvaccinated, three are partially vaccinated and none was fully vaccinated.
As of 3 July, a total of 5.71 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered under the national vaccination programme. About 3.55 million individuals have received at least one dose, of whom 2.16 million of them are fully vaccinated.
