What a $1 million home looks like in Canada this week - Jul. 5 edition

With housing affordability now at “crisis levels” in Vancouver, and the average home price in Toronto on the rise, many people are seriously looking outside of major urban centres for more affordable housing (and for backyards).

This week, we look at three suburban homes in Oakville, Ont. outside of Toronto, Bedford, N.S. just north of Halifax, and Pitt Meadows, B.C. near Vancouver. Each on the market for $1 million, you might be surprised how much (or how little) house you get when you spend that kind of money outside of the urban core.
