10 Best Views Of Singapore That You And Your Foreign Friends Will Love

This article was originally on GET.com at: 10 Best Views Of Singapore That You And Your Foreign Friends Will Love

Marina Bay Sands is quite glorified as a landmark of Singapore, as I learnt from some of my visiting foreign friends in the past year. Many people who travel to Singapore will not miss seeing the iconic MBS, and more often than not, having a drink at the top of MBS is seen as a must-do for tourists.

However, those who live in Singapore will know that there are many other places that offer wonderful views of Singapore. We have a huge number of rooftop restaurants & bars, places to dine with a view and even awesome sky gardens in residential areas. We at GET.com have put together a list of places with the best views of Singapore that you can bring your foreign friends to the next time they visit so that they get an alternative bird's eye view of our island state.

Eat & Drink At The Top

1. Club 55

Other than the usual suspects such as CÉ LA VI at the top of MBS, why not go to Club 55 for a different experience? Over here, you get a view and have the option to stay longer with a cheese and chocolate buffet.

2. Indochine

My personal favourite in this area? Indochine at the Supertree has to be it. Enjoy a great view of the pretty lights adorning the Supertrees at the Gardens by the Bay and a 360-degree, unobstructed view of the CBD.

3. LeVel33

Other cool places to have a view around the Central Business District (CBD) include the highest brewery in the world, or LeVel33. We've heard of wine-pairing, but how about beer-pairing with some tapas?

4. New Asia Bar

Previously the grandfather of “high-level” wine and dine, the New Asia Bar has been neglected in recent years. Perched some 71 floors above ground level, the place still boasts a party-vibe that can't be found amongst its other competitors. It's also the perfect place if you've got your hair done and don't want the wind to ruin it.

Sky Parks And Sky Gardens

Just looking for a place to chill, have a nice view or even bring your own drinks? Some of these sky parks and sky gardens might amaze you, since you've probably been to the buildings without knowing their secret gardens with a view.

5. SkyPark At Vivocity

One of these is the SkyPark at Vivocity, which has some interesting water features and even wading pools for kids. There's plenty of space and you can always go there to relax after your shopping spree in Vivocity.

6. Pinnacle@Duxton

The Pinnacle@Duxton is one of Singapore's most iconic residential building that comes with a sky bridge at its 26th floor, as well as a sky park at the 50th storey that's open to the public. The entrance fee is $5, but at that height, you can expect a magnificent view of the heritage district around Chinatown.

7. PARKROYAL On Pickering

One of the coolest Sky Gardens built within a hotel is PARKROYAL On Pickering. You do not even need to go up the sky garden to admire this amazing piece of architecture. The place is literally a hotel in a garden!

Natural High Points

8. Mount Faber

Other than buildings, you can look out for high points with a view along some of our nature trails. This includes Mount Faber, which you can of course reach by cable car and enjoy some spectacular sea views as well.

9. Henderson Waves

If taking the cable car is not your thing, go on a hike through the Southern Ridges, a 10 km trail that connects Mount Faber, Telok Blangah Hill, HortPark, Kent Ridge and Labrador Reserve. Along the way, you'll enjoy many vantage points, especially the Henderson Waves, the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore.

10. MacRitchie

A hike at MacRitchie will take you across the Treetop walk, a 250 metre long suspension bridge above the forest canopy. From the bridge, you will enjoy panoramic views of the greenery around and get up close to a variety of fauna and flora.
