JOHOR BARU: Flash flooding forced the evacuation of 104 people from their homes in Batu Pahat this morning.
The victims, from 41 families, were moved from Kampung Sungai Suloh and Sungai Ayam to the SK Sungai Suloh relief centre following continuous rain which inundated the areas.
Johor Civil Defence director Col Mat Zin Bujang said the situation has not improved.
“As of 6am, the weather has not improved. (And) the water level has not receded due to the high tide and rain.
“However, the relevant authorities are still continuing to monitor the situation,” he said in a statement here today. --Bernama © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
