SHAH ALAM: An 11-year-old boy fell to his death from the rear balcony of his family’s fifth-floor apartment unit at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) quarters here, yesterday.

Mohd Badrul Amin Abdul Rahman, 11, was gathering clothes from the clothesline on the balcony when he is believed to have slipped and fallen in the 7pm incident.

“Based on eyewitness testimony, the boy was sitting on the railing of the balcony while reaching for clothes on the clothesline.

“But the clothesline snapped and the boy lost his balance,” Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Baharudin Mat Taib told NSTP.

He said the boy’s father rushed to the spot where his son had fallen and took him to the military sick bay here, before being referred to the Shah Alam Hospital at 8.50am.

“The boy had suffered serious head injuries and was placed in the hospital’s Red Zone.

“But shortly after, doctors pronounced Mohd Badrul dead,” Baharudin said, adding that an investigation into the accident is ongoing. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
