On Friday, 28 February, ONE Championship returns to Singapore with ONE: KING OF THE JUNGLE, which will feature the best local and international talent at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The main event is headlined by two-sport ONE World Champion Stamp Fairtex and old foe Janet “JT” Todd.

In this highly anticipated rematch, Stamp puts her ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Title on the line against her former rival.

On the undercard, there is plenty more action to keep fans on the edge of their seats. We look at some of the Singaporean-based athletes who will battle it out in “The Lion City.”

Sam-A Attempts To Make History

In the co-main event, Singapore-based Thai athlete Sam-A Gaiyanghadao attempts to make history and become the first male athlete to be crowned a two-sport ONE World Champion in the same division.

Standing in the ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion’s way, however, is promotional newcomer Rocky Ogden. They will meet for the inaugural ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title.

A former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion, Sam-A moved to strawweight last year because it felt like a more natural weight class.

This past December at ONE: MARK OF GREATNESS, in his new weight class, the Thai native defeated “Golden Boy” Wang Junguang to become the inaugural ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion.

Ogden, who trains out of Boonchu Gym in Queensland, Australia, is a WPMF Bantamweight World Champion. Under the instruction of mentor John Wayne Parr, the Muay Thai prodigy has amassed a 36-5-1 record.

If Ogden can upset Sam-A and clinch the gold, it will be a career-defining win for the Australian athlete. But if Sam-A snatches another win at strawweight, he will enter the record books, again.

Singaporean Fan Favorites Return To The Circle

ONE: KING OF THE JUNGLE also marks the return of Tiffany “No Chill” Teo. Previously sidelined due to injury, the hard-hitting Teo throws down with rising Japanese star Ayaka Miura in a mixed martial arts strawweight showdown.

In a lightweight clash not to be missed, Singapore’s very own knockout king Amir Khan squares off against ONE Warrior Series standout Kimihiro Eto.

Last November, Khan got the nod in a split decision win over Ev “ET” Ting at ONE: EDGE OF GREATNESS.

The Singaporean admitted afterward he was not satisfied with his performance. Although a rematch has to wait, Khan has a chance to prove beyond all doubt he is still an elite contender in the lightweight division.

Other big names competing on the card include Evolve MMA’s stars Ritu “The Indian Tigress” Phogat, Troy “Pretty Boy” Worthen, and Hiroki Akimoto.

Since joining Evolve, the trio has been outstanding in the Circle last year, and they will look to carry that momentum into 2020.

ONE: KING OF THE JUNGLE also welcomes back Radeem Rahman as he makes his long-awaited return to action. Sidelined from competition since October 2018 due to surgery, Rahman hopes to shake off the rust against Jeff Chan in a bantamweight battle.
