Srinagar (J&K) Sep 08 (ANI): Around 12 centuries old sculpture of goddess Durga was found in Kashmir. The sculpture was retrieved on August 13 from the Jhelum River at Pandrethan area of Srinagar by labour while extracting sand. The sculpture is “6 x 08” inches in size, carved in a black stone. Hindu goddess Durga is sitting on a lion throne along with four attendants. “During examination by experts, it was revealed that the sculpture of goddess Durga dates back roughly to 7th-8th AD (about 1200 years) old,’ said Deputy Director, Department of Archives.
