17 People Who Were Undecided Before The Presidential Debate Are Sharing Where They Stand Now, And It's Not What I Expected

Kamala Harris and Donald Trump recently went head-to-head for the first time in a presidential debate watched by more than 67 million people.

We asked undecided voters to react to the debate and tell us where they stand now. About 36% of respondents said they were leaning toward voting for Kamala Harris before the debate, around 39% said they were leaning toward voting for Donald Trump, and around 25% said they were completely undecided before watching the debate.

Our poll found that 66% of respondents felt Kamala Harris won the debate, but only 37% of respondents said they plan to vote for her in November.

34% of respondents felt Donald Trump won the debate, and 42% said they plan to vote for him in November.

21% of undecided respondents said they remain undecided post-debate.

1."I think Harris held her own. Trump is out in an imaginary world. Harris is by far the smarter and more stable presidential candidate. I am now voting for Harris because we need a mature adult as president, not one who is a spoiled child and throws hissy fits when he does not get what he wants."

2."I was undecided but was leaning toward Kamala Harris. After watching the debate, I am now voting for Kamala Harris. She proved to be the teller of truth with a plan for our future, while Trump makes up lies and espouses them as the truth."

3."I was leaning toward Harris before the debate, but now I'm voting for Trump. Harris never really explained her flip-flops; she just disabled them. So all I can assume is she isn't really changing her stances, just saying she is."

4."I feel like even though Kamala won the debate because Donald had a bad night, he still gave me more policy specifics, and I understand what he is going to do when he becomes president. I trust him with the economy and to get stuff done. Overall, it seemed childish on both sides at times. I would have liked to hear more concrete plans from Kamala. I'll be voting for Trump."

5."I went into the debate completely undecided, but I believe Trump won the debate. Harris seemed very unprepared and could not answer basic questions. I got the feeling that she does not have a vision for America, only policy sound bites."

"The moderators detracted from the debate and seemed to side with Harris. Overall, neither did great, but I saw specifics of what Trump wants to do and nothing from Harris."

While he's a terrible debater and an incoherent communicator, his track record is one of four years of progress, peace, a strong economy, a secure border, strong foreign policy, standing up to China, bankrupting Iran and Russia, and zero wars. Kamala is part of the worst regime in history. Like Biden, she has lots of promises, very little delivered, and poor judgment. It's about results not looking cute during a debate."

11."I was completely undecided heading into the debate, and now I'm voting for Kamala Harris. Harris far out-performed Trump and instilled my confidence in her ability to handle the economy and foreign leaders and initiate policies to help middle-class Americans."

She was clear on the issues and had valid plans for inflation. She spoke with kindness regarding women's rights. She did not go low with that man. I think while she also stood behind the Biden administration and what they've done, she also did make it clear that the Harris administration is coming in differently."

"While that man (Trump) spoke nonsense regarding immigration, people eating pets, and late-term abortions. Along with somehow not being able to comprehend that biracial people exist. Kamala did not go low she just stood back with facial expressions I think most logical people were making and let him roll in the mud."

15."I was completely undecided heading into the debate, and I am still undecided. Trump scares me because he cannot stay on an issue and avoids answering questions he does not like. Trump also still has no plan for medical coverage, although he had four years as president to overhaul Obamacare. Trump is too authoritarian. Harris cannot be trusted as she tries to sell herself as a moderate when really I think she's a liberal activist."

"Neither candidate is fit for office because what America needs is to slow down on forcing change and let it evolve organically. Change is difficult; fast change leads to revolution. Can someone start looking at history and what happens when change is forced and not evolved over time? The good for one is surpassed by the good for the whole."

16."I didn't watch the whole debate, just snippets on TikTok. I was undecided until the clip I saw about eating dogs and cats in Ohio. Again, I only saw snippets, so I don't know the whole context, but I mean, what!?"

17."My husband has never been one to care about politics, but I always have, so I basically tell him what to do; but this year, after watching this debate, he was fully on board with Kamala and admitted that Trump sounds like a whole moron."
