The survey was conducted by market research company, Milieu Insight, with a sample size of 1,000 single Singaporeans aged 18-41. The online survey was carried out in Singapore from 23 to 30 June.

According to Lucille McCart, Bumble's communications director, the desire to connect with individuals who share similar values and interests, including a fondness for pets, is more prevalent than ever.

The survey findings align with the perspective of individuals like Andrea, a 27-year-old media professional in Singapore.

She believes that sharing a passion for animals can "bring about some wonderful benefits" in a relationship, reflecting kindness and warmth.

"It often shows a kind and warm side. When both people have a mutual love for animals, it forms a strong foundation for creating unforgettable memories," she said.

As caring for a pet requires commitment, she said that sharing a picture of a dog can indicate that a person is "nurturing and dependable".

While enthusiasm in animals is an excellent quality, Andrea emphasised that compatibility depends on factors such as communication style, principles, and goals.
