2 ‘kotong’ cops arrested in entrapment operation in QC

QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Two PNP personnel tagged as kotong cops, were arrested in an entrapment operation in Quezon City, Tuesday.

The suspects have been identified as PO3 Anthony Tecson and SPO2 Raul Nadera; both assigned to the traffic division of Quezon City Police District.

The PNP Counter Intelligence Task Force or CITF has received complaints that these suspects would randomly flag down vehicles which  they would force to undergo smoke test unless the driver hands them cash.

Marked money was recovered from the subject PNP personnel.

CITF team is now processing all the documentation prior to the filing of a case.

These two police would flag down motorists, especially  trucks; and when the vehicle seems to have a problem with smoke emission, they will harass them to undergo testing or just pay which  range from P1,500).” — UNTV News & Rescue
