2 women slashed with penknife during robbery in Ang Mo Kio; 3 men arrested

SINGAPORE — Two women were slashed with a penknife during a robbery in Ang Mo Kio on Monday (23 September).

Three men, aged between 37 and 50, have been arrested for their suspected involvement in the case, said the police in a news release on Tuesday. The penknife is believed to have been used by one of the suspects.

Police said they received a report about the incident at about 3pm on Monday. The two victims along with their colleague were robbed of five mobile phones at Block 532 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10.

Through the use of images from nearby CCTV cameras and ground enquiries, the identities of the three men were established, which led to their arrest.

All three will be charged on Wednesday for robbery with hurt, which carries a prison term of between five and 20 years and caning of not less than 12 strokes.
