20 last-minute deals you should check out before Funan closes

We're sure most HardwareZone readers should know by now that Funan DigitaLife Mall is closing for redevelopment, and the last day of trading is June 30. Since April, we've been covering some of the deals that you can find at Challenger (here and here) and Harvey Norman.

But with the closure just a week away, perhaps it's time to revisit Funan to see if there are any last-minute deals we can chiong. This time, we visited other shops too. Let's take a look!

Let's take a look.

Newstead, Level 3

Newstead has a few shops at Funan, and one of them is selling its demo Surface Pro 4 unit for S$799. This model, with an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM, and a 128GB SSD, costs S$1,599 brand new. Interestingly, if you want to buy it, you must buy the demo black Type Cover too, at S$89. If you just want the Type Cover, it'll cost you S$99. Well, just FYI.

Newstead, Level 3

Over at another Newstead shop (#03-18), we've this Fitbit Surge going for S$285, the lowest we've come across. Many shops we've been to are either selling it for S$328 or S$297. We've checked with Newstead, because this is a moving out clearance sale, you've to pay with cash or NETS.

If you prefer the new Fitbit Blaze, that's going for S$256.

Newstead, Level 3

Still at Newstead, the Pebble Time, which packs a color e-paper display, built-in microphone, and timeline interface, is going for S$224.73. (Hmmm...) Once again, cash or NETS payment to enjoy the discount.

Newstead, Level 3

Our favorite headphones at this year's Tech Awards, the Plantronics BackBeat Sense has a sound quality that trumps many other pricier headphones. It usually costs S$279, but Newstead is selling it for S$192, the lowest we've come across anywhere. Tech shows usually sell it at S$249 (with free gifts like a power bank), by the way.

Newstead, Level 3

The 1TB Toshiba Canvio Slim II portable HDD is going for S$86, down from the usual price of S$119. For those wondering, during the last PC Show, it was going for S$95. As they always say, every dollar counts!

Challenger, Level 6

This Klipsch S3m is an entry-level pair of earphones that works with iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows devices. At S$59, it's actually a whole S$10 cheaper that what we saw at the last tech show.

Challenger, Level 6

A case of don't-ask-don't-know. The price tag on this 4TB WD My Book external hard drive says S$239 for Challenger ValueClub members, but actually the discount is greater. You can get it at S$189. The 6TB version is going for S$369. These prices match the last PC Show's, so if you regretted not picking one up then, you know where to find them now.

Challenger, Level 6

Perhaps at this stage, the best deals are those refurnished or display units. This refurbished ASUS ZenBook UX305UA, which sports a 6th-gen Intel Core i5-6200U processor, a 13.3" full HD screen, 8GB RAM, and a 256GB SSD, is going for S$1,198 (brand new set costs S$1,398). And you get free antivirus, case, and USB LAN dongle.

Challenger, Level 6

Challenger is also clearing this Dell Inspiron 24 7000 AIO (hands-on) for S$1,798 (brand new set costs S$2,049). Running a 6th-gen Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU, it also packs NVIDIA GeForce GT 940M (4GB) graphics, a 23.8" full HD touch display with Intel RealSense 3D camera, 16GB RAM, and a 1TB hard drive and 32GB SSD (for caches).

AddOn Systems, Level 3

AddOn at level 3 is a good place to shop for Dell laptops. For example, the higher-spec'ed Dell XPS 13 with a 6th-gen Intel Core i7-6560U processor, 256GB SSD, and 13.3" QHD+ (3,200 x 1,800 pixels) display is going for S$2,199. Would there be further discounts as we approach June 30?

@Notebook.com, Level 3

@Notebook.com (just beside AddOn) has this Dell Inspiron 15 3000 that's going for S$749. It has a 15.6" HD screen, and is powered by a 6th-gen Intel Core i5-6200U processor. Some shops are selling this for S$799 with free 8GB RAM upgrade (from 4GB), but this shop is selling it at a lower price and yet offers the RAM upgrade.

Digital Style, Level 3

A multi-brand electronics concept store by Newstead, Digital Style is aggressively clearing its Samsung printers stock, throwing in additional discounts on top of the already-discounted prices, and freebies like NTUC vouchers.

Laptop Gallerie by PC Dreams, Level 3

Laptop Gallerie by PC Dreams has many "factory refreshed" devices to clear. All of them come with original manufacturer’s warranty and PC Dreams’ standard warranty.

This 10.1" HP x2 210 detachable notebook is powered by an Intel Atom x5-Z8300 CPU, has built-in B&O Play speakers, and runs Windows 10 Pro. Going for S$499, it has 4GB RAM, which is doubled the 2GB that it usually comes with.

Here's more if you're looking for tablets. The Elite x2 1011 G1 may be last year's model (these are factory-refreshed units, remember), but it's still a very attractive, rugged, lightweight, and modern 2-in-1 convertible ultrabook. At S$699, it's worth a look.

Many of HP's 2015 tablets can be found here, too, such as the Android-running Pro Slate 8 and 12, at S$319 and S$349 respectively. Again, they are really good offers considering their normal price. Also, here's our video demonstration on some of the nifty features of the HP Pro Slate 12 tablet.
