The all-new Nissan Patrol is officially on sale in Australia, where the popular off-roader comes in two trims—Ti and Ti-L—and sells for AUD75,990 and AUD91,990, respectively (approx. PHP2.63 million and PHP 3.19 million before taxes and fees).
For the 2020 model year, the rugged and tough SUV gets a major refresh along with updates to tech, luxury, and safety features.
The car first went on sale in the Middle East in October.
Exterior-wise, Nissan gave the 2020 Nissan Patrol a sleeker look, offering two distinctive fascia. Either could be how the Philippine-spec Patrol will look when it arrives early next year.
Tweaks to the grille, bonnet, front bumper and fender panels give the SUV a more upright appearance. However, the TI trim comes with less chrome and other trappings. The range-topping Ti-L, on the other hand, comes with lots of the shiny stuff along with an integrated front airdam.
Describing the unique front ends, Nissan says that the Ti has a “unique sporty front-end design,” while the Ti-L offers a “more premium look.”
The rear also receives some aesthetic changes courtesy of a larger chrome nameplate and a boomerang-shaped taillights.
Inside, the Nissan raises the Patrol’s style quotient with quilted leather seats imbued with diamond stitching. A pair of touchscreen displays on the center dash provide navigation at the top and trip info at the bottom. The system gets both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as well.
Compared to the base model Ti, the Ti-L adds second row infotainment screens, driver’s seat and mirrors with memory, heated/cooled front seats, a Bose audio system, and a sunroof with roof rails.
An enhanced driver safety suite includes Intelligent Forward Collision Warning system and Intelligent Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection.
The 2020 Patrol is powered by a 4.0-liter V6 making 275 hp and 394 Nm of torque as standard, with the option to upgrade to a 5.6-liter V8 offering 400 hp and 560 Nm. The V8-powered version comes with Nissan’s Hydraulic Body Motion Control adaptive suspension system.
