TikToker shares 3 easiest ways to increase your likability: 'How do I send this to my boss?'

Likability isn’t necessarily an inherent human trait — I’m sure you know some people who prove this is true — but it can be learned.

Sarvenaz Myslicki runs a whole blog doling out career advice, and in addition to offering resume updates and interview tips, she also highlights the importance of a good attitude.

On her TikTok account, Mysclicki shared three very straightforward and easy ways to increase your likability.

The first step is to be excited when you greet people. Mysclicki mentions in the caption that it “makes people excited back.” For those who are on the more introverted side or feel socially awkward, Mysclicki says to try it out with close friends first.

For those who can’t act or feel uncomfortable showing a lot of emotion, Mysclicki suggests using your words instead.

“If showing the emotion feels unnatural you could start by verbalizing your feelings: ‘I’m so excited/happy to see you,'” she said in a comment.

Don’t fake it though. It can come across in a worse way than just waving in silence.

“If you’re not excited to see them, it’s not important that they like you back,” Mysclicki said.

Something to avoid doing is misspelling someone’s name. In the second TikTok, Mysclicki points out different ways people have misspelled her name in emails.

“Names are the one thing I always re-read even if I don’t proof the rest of the email,” she explained.

“How do I send this to my boss without actually sending it to my boss,” one commenter replied.

For part three, Mysclicki breaks down the proper etiquette to employ when someone tells you a story they’ve already told you before.

Instead of interrupting them and telling them they’re repeating themselves, Mysclicki suggests saying, “I remember that!” and then adding a detail you remember from the story.

A lot of people in the comments felt uncomfortable even saying anything.

“I just let them tell it again and react as if I haven’t heard it,” one person said.

“My friend who’s been married for 40 years said this was one secret to making her marriage work: she NEVER once told her husband she’d already seen or heard something,” another wrote.
